Donald Krotee, AIA

Principal

Mr. Krotee has been active in the industry of planning and architectural design for the past thirty years. His planning and architectural practice, the Donald Krotee Partnership, Inc., has combined the professional practice of land planning, entitlement and architectural design for successful urban projects in the fields of residential, commercial, municipal and institutional work.

The firm has provided A-E services for over 250 publicly bid projects in over thirty municipalities and jurisdictions, as well as over 300 projects for private sector developer and owner entities. Recent goals enable the firm to play a key part in saving and preserving cultural, community and historic fabric in many the places where people live and work.

Broad experience with local educational and municipal clients include specialization in rehabilitation and historic rehabilitation as demonstrated for GSA A-E Division, County of Orange, performing six separate projects on the County’s most recognizable historic landmark, the Old Orange County Courthouse. Similar rehab projects have been preformed for the Downtown Redevelopment Commissions, Community Redevelopment Agencies and private sector clients for virtually every City and County in Southern California.

Local educational clients include Rancho Santiago Community College District (multiple building retrofit/inspection) and many unified school districts including Santa Ana, Placentia-Yorba Linda, Norwalk-La Mirada, Orange, and others.

Educational Background

Mr. Krotee received his Bachelor of Architecture degree from University of Arizona, from which he graduated with high distinction and received the College of Architecture's prestigious Alpha Rho Chi Medal. As an undergraduate, Mr. Krotee minored in Historical Restoration in conjunction with his major in Architecture. Mr. Krotee also possesses a technical degree in Architectural Construction Technology from Temple University's Technical Institute.
