South Laguna Beach Fire Station

This fire station was found to be a critical building for the service of southern Orange County, and the GSA/A-E administration of the County of Orange elected to perform a major remodel and seismic retrofit to the facility. An understanding of basic fire facility workings, associated devices, vehicles, and critical floor clearances for equipment were key design issues. The majority of the structure (in terms of its vertical loading) was in good condition. Our office engineered a structural stabilization framework on the exterior and wall surfaces. The interior was reconstructed and modernized. Overnight facilities were modified and/or replaced.
