Arcade Building

Designed in 1920 and completed in 1925, the Arcade Building is largely constructed of unreinforced masonry with framed infill construction. DKP successfully coordinated rehab funding assistance with the City of Santa Ana's Redevelopment Agency, designed the structural retrofit, coordinated engineering, incorporated the downtown design guidelines for the center city overlay area, and did tenant improvements for six users (three which were restaurants). Façade rebate and documents were filed with the Sec. of Interior as part of the National Registration process to enable owners to take advantage of federal tax credit. DKP pioneered an epoxy seismic retrofit technique which preserved the building's façade despite the structural work. The building is a valued member of Santa Ana's largest historic district.
